An Interactive Learning ExperienceAgainst All Odds is an interactive, educational online video game that puts students in the shoes of a refugee. The game allows students to experience what it is like to have to flee one's home, cross into a new country, and start a new life. The game is divided into three main categories: 'War and Conflict ', 'Borderland', and 'A New Life'. Against All Odds takes players on a journey ultimately towards asylum, while touching on issues of understanding and intuition in different environments. Players will be challenged by a variety of obstacles and scenarios simulating struggles refugees are forced to deal with everyday, from sneaking out of town to dealing with prejudices in a new place.

Play Against All Odds

The game can be played from beginning to end or in sections. Throughout the lesson plans you will find references to specific chapters of the game that highlight the concepts in the activity. The game can be played individually, in groups, or as a whole class. We recommend that teachers preview the chapters before having students play to make sure all content is appropriate for their classroom.
