No one should have to sleep on the cold, hard ground, especially after fleeing for their life. Help provide blankets and mats to refugees — compassionate gifts of comfort, safety and warmth.
Diarrhea and pneumonia are still deadly diseases in many parts of the world — especially for refugee children under five. Help provide children in Africa with oral rehydration to help them recover.
Books, pencils, pens and paper. These essential learning tools are often out of reach for refugees who left everything behind. You can provide school supplies to a student eager to return to class — and build a brighter future.
When 5-year-old Hammadi and his family fled war in their home country of Syria, there was no time to gather warm clothing. This little boy was only wearing a thin sweater and sandals when he arrived in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, where he, his parents and his siblings have settled. In the valley, temperatures can dip below freezing, and winter storms, ice and winds make for a brutal season.
With generous donor support, the UN Refugee Agency is working hard to provide emergency aid to children like Hammadi and their families — helping them survive winter and rebuild their lives.
These children, refugees from Cameroon, have found safety in the UNHCR-supported Adagom settlement in Nigeria. When they arrived, they were in desperate need of emergency aid, including clean water. Many of the Cameroonians who have fled violence in their home country had their houses set on fire. Fleeing for their lives, they escaped with nothing. At Adagom, they have access to shelter, food, water, sanitation and other essential services.
This long-term humanitarian crisis may not always make the headlines, but UNHCR is there, caring for refugees, thanks to the support of compassionate Americans.
We promise to honor your generosity and use your donation in the most effective way possible to help refugees. The catalog items shown reflect periodic surveys of the countries UNHCR operates in and represent both the need and price of critical aid items. Although each item is representative of the gift category in which it appears, donations will be used to provide assistance where it is needed most.
