Neil Gaiman reads Dr. Seuss for refugees

Why would UN Refugee Agency Goodwill Ambassador Neil Gaiman agree to perform a dramatic reading of the Cheesecake Factory menu? For refugees!

In May 2017, Neil accepted this brilliantly silly proposition when writer-comedian Sara Benincasa suggested that his fans could raise $500,000 by World Refugee Day.

And with that, the #NeilCake challenge was on.

By World Refugee Day, more than 2,300 donors stepped up to raise more than $112,000!

It's no menu reading, but the consolation prize might be even better: a dramatic reading of the tongue twisting Dr. Seuss classic, Fox in Socks.
