It's been two years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, when millions of families were forced to flee, marking the beginning of the fastest-growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. In an instant, Ukrainians' lives changed forever. Life as they once knew it was simply over.
Still, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency continues to deliver hope. I saw this firsthand on my recent trip to the Republic of Moldova as a high profile supporter of UNHCR. I met with inspiring Ukrainian refugees who shared the power and impact of UNHCR's work. I also toured a warehouse where I witnessed the sheer scale of the essential items being delivered to displaced families in need. From blankets and heaters to kitchen kits and warm clothing that protects them from the harsh winter.
It's compassionate people like you who ensure there are enough long-term resources to reach people in need. That's why UNHCR remains on the ground helping the displaced recover from trauma, restore access to health care, education and employment, and do everything possible to help rebuild lives. With the support of people like you, UNHCR and its partners provided 2.63 million people in Ukraine with critical assistance in 2023.

We've seen the power of this community coming together, but as Ukraine enters the third year since the full-scale invasion of the country, these resilient families need us more than ever. We won't leave anyone behind.
