24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Our donors are there for refugees.

Successes and setbacks. Laughter and tears. Hope and despair. USA for UNHCR donors stand with refugees on every step of their journeys — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their kindness and generosity helped provide shelter, healthcare, food and clean water to more people than ever before in 2018.

Our donors supported refugees with open arms, making them feel safe after fleeing their homes. They bore witness to the persecution and danger that forced them to leave everything behind. Our donors showed refugees that they are not alone — and that caring Americans want to help them rebuild their lives.

USA for UNHCR donors have also been with refugees to celebrate the happy times.

Samira Akter, 20, uses the money she saves from receiving UNHCR’s compressed rice husk fuel to buy food, medicine and goods in the market at Kutupalong camp.

A relieved young mother holding her healthy baby, happy to finally be safe.

Selat Mahamud Farah, a 64-year-old farmer, irrigates his onions on land near Melkadida camp – home to over 30,000 Somali refugees.

A father, proud to employ new skills and once again work to support his family.

Anethe Cyuzuzo (in blue coat), 15, is from Rwanda and Irikungoma Bellaca (black coat), 16, comes from Burundi. The two girls are best friends at Paysannat L school, in Mahama refugee camp, Kirehe, eastern Rwanda.

An eager student, thankful to take her place in a classroom for the first time.

As new conflicts erupt and protracted crises continue, our world's most vulnerable women, men and children will continue to rely on USA for UNHCR donors in the year ahead. With support from caring Americans, refugees around the world will continue to receive the protection and care they need — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Thank you. Gracias. Merci. Spasibo. Shukran.
