UNHCR IN ACTION THIS WINTER
Winter is here. Tens of thousands of refugees from Syria and Iraq are in desperate need for winterization aid. Violence in both Iraq and Syria has driven millions from their homes. With just a split second families were forced to make quick decisions on what they could bring while escaping war. Many left with just the clothes on their backs.
As winter sets in and conditions become unbearable — UNHCR is working around the clock to provide much needed heaters, stoves for cooking hot food, blankets and winter reinforcements for temporary shelters.
