Supporter Appreciation Day 2020

Supporter Appreciation Day 2020 was hosted by TV Host Rachel Rudwall, and featured a conversation with the owner and staff of The Lancaster Stroopies Company – a small business in Lancaster, PA providing meaningful employment to resettled refugees. Stroopies co-owner Jennie Groff was joined by two staff members, Khalidah and Ahmed, a mother-son team who fled Syria and were resettled to the U.S. in November 2015.

During the conversation, Jennie shared the inspiration behind the business, while Khalidah and Ahmed explained the challenges they faced when they first arrived to the U.S. and how Stroopies helped them make Lancaster their new home.

Attendees were also delighted to a musical performance by Cirque du Soleil singer Destini Wolf. Wolf also shared what moved her to write the lyrics of White Water Tumbling and support refugees.
